Are the deleted pages really removed, or just hidden?
Really removed. The tool builds a new document from the pages you did not select, so the removed content is not in the output file at all. That distinction matters: a page hidden behind an annotation or covered with a white rectangle is still in the file and still extractable, which is how redaction failures end up in the news.
Can I black out a paragraph rather than a whole page?
Not with this tool — it removes whole pages only. Blacking out part of a page is redaction, and doing it safely requires a tool that either rasterises the page or genuinely deletes the underlying text objects. Drawing a black rectangle over text in most PDF editors leaves the text selectable underneath.
Why are the printed page numbers now out of sequence?
Because printed page numbers are part of the page content, not metadata. Removing page 5 leaves a document that jumps from 4 to 6, and nothing can change that without editing the pages themselves. The same applies to any header, footer or cross-reference printed on the page.
Can I delete every page?
No — a PDF with no pages is not a valid document and no reader will open it, so the tool stops you and tells you how many pages would remain. The counter under the selection box shows that figure live, which is worth checking before you press the button since it is easy to type a range one page wider than intended.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser using your own device's processor, so your documents never travel over the network. That matters for contracts, statements, medical records and tax filings — the documents people most often need to edit are exactly the ones you should not hand to an unfamiliar server. There is no upload wait, no size cap, and nothing for us to store or leak.

Deleting is really keeping
Under the hood this builds a new document from the pages you did not select. That distinction matters for one practical reason: the removed pages are genuinely gone from the output, not hidden. A page hidden by an annotation or covered with a white rectangle is still in the file and still extractable — which is how redaction failures make the news. Removing the page entirely is the only reliable way to remove it.
The caveat is that this removes whole pages, not content within a page. If you need to black out a paragraph while keeping the rest of the page, that is redaction, and it needs a tool that rasterises or genuinely deletes the underlying text objects.
The selection syntax
Same as any print dialog: 1-3, 5, 8-10. The counter below the box shows how many pages will remain, which is the number worth checking before you press the button — it is easy to type a range one page wider than intended.

The whole operation runs in your browser using your own device’s processor. The documents people most often need to edit — contracts, bank statements, medical records, tax packages — are exactly the ones you should not hand to an unfamiliar server. There is no upload wait, no size ceiling imposed by a free tier, and nothing left in a temporary directory afterwards. Disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
